Guy Farrow was shooting at PramDog today – among other things he shoots athletes and athletics related imagery – plenty to see on his website at: www.guy-farrow.co.uk  – freeze frame perfect with his superfast broncolor packs and crisp as a freshly-ironed five pound note with the hasselblad. The client was Freya Underwear and long lean Tabitha Hall from Models One jumped and kicked her way through the day. Backstage pin-up chic

Barry Jeffery was in over the weekend adding to his ever-growing folio of magnificent hair photography, shooting a test with Anne Veck attending to hair and Mira Parmar on make-up. Entr’acte being the theme and the rear of PramDog’s moving walls being called upon to give an authentic backstage feel with more than a little elaboration and styling courtesy of Kate Jeffery. The clothing rails truly gushed with silky satins and manicured finery. Barry has a fine sense with directional light and the monochromatic tones succeeded in accentuating the vampish mood. Gideon scampered up the ladders attaching lights here, there and everywhere at Barry’s behest – though it probably seemed a bit lightweight as he is getting used to assisting Julia Fullerton-Batten on her epic lighting sets, plunging whole swathes of the countryside into light.  (Check out her blog to see what I mean – I love the way she lights those interiors – and you can see Gideon at work)

Bye Bertie

Very sad to say that the first entry in this blog should be to say that Bertie the PramDog dog took leave of us yesterday. A year and a half of cancer finally overtook him. Lovely, beautiful Bert – a pleasure to all who knew him – ever eager for a walk in Finsbury Park or on the marshes – will be sorely missed. The photographs are from a birthday message made a few days before his demise.

Andy Kruczek is a busy, busy man with a fortuitous addiction to photoshop. He was in here yesterday working on his epic Steampunk project. He writes about it in some detail on his excellent blog.

There is an awful lot of comping involved so it required much forethought and planning, but regardless of the fact that studio was rammed with models sprawled over sofas awaiting their time in the camera’s glare, Andy seemed very relaxed – undoubtedly thanks to the excellent help he was receiving from his son, Tom, who on this occasion was doubling as apprentice assistant.

The team worked brilliantly together – Chris on hair, Darren Knight styling the models with a deft, melodramatic Victorian touch and Keiko Mizuno on make-up. All this and a video crew too – sorted on time and in-budget apparently – blooming amazing!
